About Vinyasa Yoga
The word vinyasa can be broken down into its Sanskrit roots to guide us in finding its meaning. Nyasa means “to place” and vi means “in a special way.” One common interpretation of Vinyasa Yoga means “breath-synchronized movement’. In other words, we move from one pose to another on an inhale or an exhale. It is a sequential movement that interlinks postures to form a continuous flow. The purpose of Vinyasa Yoga is to create additional internal heat, aid further circulation, and further detoxification or purification.
